Book: Healing Hearts

This is my first Book that I am working on right now with all of my heart… Healing Hearts came as an inspiration to me because I was searching for a nice Roman with some twists and mysteries but I could not find exactly what I wanted so as my best freind Nadja says: “If something does not exist, try creating it yourself”. So I grabbed my tablet and started writing… It may take some time because I have no expirience on writing a book all by myself so… I’ll try my best!

As I stepped out of the bus into the suburbs of Sacramento I realized that this is it. I’m on my own here and ready to persue my dream of working in one of the most wanted workplaces around here as a nurse. Brownsville Hospital is one of the few hospitals in California known for its big reputation as it holds one of the best doctors, nurses and care for patients. Am I even at the right place? I just finished my college and worked only 10 months as a nurse to collect my experience and develope my knowledge more. Yes, I know that they accepted me because medical workers are struggling right now and even a big hospital as Brownsville is desperate to have more workers. Medical workers are never enough. Even for them. I’m I even good enough? I think I am. I didn’t go to college and stayed up late at nights learning about aorta and heart diseases for nothing. I know a lot and I am confident enough to step in and do my best. First tho I need to get to the apartment and relax a bit. First day is in two days, so I can relax for now. The apartment complex is only few steps away. I spoke to this guy Tim on the Craigslist last year and he was searching for a new roomate. The crazy thing is that he’s also working in Brownsville Hospital as a nurse. What a nice coincidence. As I approach the steps and ring the bell that says: “Taylor” on the silver plaque beside it I waited and then suddenly a blonde good-looking guy in his twenties opened the door. I can say that he’s training. His biceps could crack my skull open like a nutcracker. But as they say: “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, he introduced himself with a slightly feminine and playful tone: “Hi there. I’m Tim, Tim Taylor”. I shook his hand as I told him: “Hi. I’m Johnny Witherson from Craigslist”.
“I already knew that, welcome. I’m very excited to show you around. Your first time in Sacramento?”
“Yes actually, first time in California too” I said with a slight embarrassing tone. Is it actually lame that I never came to California? I’m from Albany, New York for fuck sake. Everyone visited California at least once a year. Los Angeles, San Francisco et cetera. Well, I never had a problem with not going there though. I was a bit shy but also social with people who shared the same interests as I did. I stepped inside of an ancient renovated apartment complex that looks like an vintage building so I asked: “When was it built?” Tim replied:”1910 but it was renovated not many years ago”. It looks like it. I liked the vintage touch and feel it have. I was a bit sceptical because I dont have much trust in this kind of buildings. They make me anxious from time to time. My first apartment was like this. Affordable in Albany but after few months I had problems with mold. We head toward the upstairs on the second floor. He put the keys in and open the door to reveal a nice, modern and cute apartment. It looks like a mixture of a frat house but nice, smelling sweet and decorated.
“This is my apartment, here is the bathroom and over there is your room”. He opened the door and showed me a nice guest room with freshly made bed, flowers and furniture. It’s big and cozy. Small balcony with two chairs and a coffee table. I put my bags on the floor and spread my body across the bed. Tim looks at me with a smile saying: “I can see that you’re tired, I’ll leave you alone but if you care you can join me for dinner in about 1 hour. I’m cooking some chicken and rice because I need my protein for today”. I looked at him and told him that I’ll actually go out and explore the Sacramento. He said that we could also do that together but he would like to eat with me because it’s a chance to meet each other better. I can do that. I need friends here. I love socializing but with people who get me though.
I changed into my black shorts, nice black and white shirt and headed to the kitchen where Tim was already serving the meal he prepared.
“It looks good, thank you so much for making me feel welcomed here”. I say with huge hungry eyes looking at this crisp and golden chicken legs served with steamed rice and what looks like gravy. I’m not a big fan of gravy on rice. I like it on mashed potatoes more. As for the rice i would be more excited if it was served with some creamy sauce. I sat down and thanked again for being so nice to mee. As we were eating I asked him about his life and what is he doing. You know just casual stuff anyone would ask. He told me that he just broke up with his girlfriend and since that he work, go to the gym, sleep and eat. Not much. He used to paint and draw. He stopped once his heart got broken. He lives here in Sacramento for almost six years now. Before that he used to live in San Francisco. He comes from a wealthy family whose generations owned banks and was working with money. He admitted that his family used to launder money into the states. He said how he never appreciated that kind of work his family did and how he always wanted to be a doctor but due to his struggle to concentrate and study so much he became a nurse. Well not that I’m saying how studying as a nurse is easy but its further more easier than becoming a doctor. So Tim told me his story and we head toward the door and went outside. I told him how this is my frst time visiting California. He was nice to show me around. After some chit-chat I realized that Tim is kind and down to earth kind of a guy who could be worth hanging around with. Maybe we could be good friends after all. I would consider myself to be a winner of the lottery becaus how fortunate can one be to get an cheaper apartment in Sacramento and a nice roomate to hang out with.
